 School Supplies

Here is the suggested Pre-K school supply list for 2023-24.  If your child starts after the beginning of the year, please contact your child's teacher before purchasing to see if we have enough or if there is something different needed at that time during the year.  Thanks!

Every student also needs a full-size backpack, water bottle, snack, towel for rest, and a full set of clothes in case they need to change.

Arrival and Dismissal:

All Pre-K students will be dropped off between 7:10 and 7:30.  If you arrive after 7:35 your child will be considered tardy and they will need to sign in at the front office.  For dismissal, there are a few options… Pre-K Hand to Hand pickup (front of the school), Bus, or Daycare/YMCA.  If you are picking up your child, please park your car and walk to the front door.  Bring your bright green sign with your child’s name and wait in the grass in front of the school.  The students will sit and be checked out by the teacher before walking to the authorized adult picking them up.

Breakfast and Lunch:

We will start our day in the cafeteria with breakfast (7:10-7:30).  If your child is eating breakfast in the cafeteria, please arrive no later than 7:15.  They may also bring a snack and/or breakfast item from home.  We will ALL be in the cafeteria practicing good manners and social skills.  Our lunch is at 11:00.  You may either send a lunchbox from home or they can get lunch from the cafeteria.  If your child is bringing a lunch box from home, please put their name on it and all home containers.  We will assist as necessary, but please keep in mind that I am teaching your children to be independent, and easy on/off container lids are helpful.  If your child is buying lunch at school, create an account at myschoolbucks.com to add money. We will have snack time in the afternoon.  Please send a labeled water bottle and snack every day.

Attendance and late drop off/early pick-up:

Daily attendance is very important.  Being on time to drop off and pick up your child is imperative.  If your child is going home a different way than usual or with a friend or family member not on your authorized list, please let us know.  If it is the same day, complete the change of dismissal form on the front page of the Teravista website by 2:15.  If you are running late in the morning or if you pick up your child early, you must go through the office.

 Folders:

Your child has a blue Tuesday Take Home Folder. The Tuesday Folder will contain any classroom information as well as the kid’s work. Please sign, empty the folder, and bring it back the following class day.

 Toys:

Please keep toys and other distractions at home.  We do not want them to get lost or broken at school and they can be a distraction and keep us from learning.

 Change of Clothes:

In a large Ziploc bag, please label and provide a complete change of clothes (shorts, underwear, shirt, and socks) for your child.  They will remain in your child’s backpack in case they are needed at school.  Also, send your child to school in play clothes that are appropriate for the playground and weather.  We go outside every day and get messy at times.

 Rest Towel:

We will have a rest time each day.  At the beginning of the year, it will be slightly longer as we adjust to a full day of learning.  As the students get adjusted it will be a short quiet time where the kids can rest or look at a book independently.  Please send a towel (labeled with your child’s name) for your child to rest on during this time.  Towels will go home daily in your child’s backpack.

 Birthdays:

We love to celebrate birthdays!  You may help celebrate your child’s birthday at school by sending a treat (this is optional).  Please no nuts or anything that needs to be cut with a knife.  Also, let me know in advance!
