This is confirmation of your registration for the 2015 Capital Area STEM Competition.
The competition will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at The University of Texas Main Campus, Welch Hall. Please arrive at the facility at 8:30AM. The schedule of this competition is as follows:
***Time may change depending on the pace of panel discussion.
A few important notes:
RELEASE FORM: Students who have not submitted a release form will not be permitted to participate in the competition.
LOCATION: University of Texas Welch Hall-- Due to construction and road closures in the area we ask that students are dropped off on the corner of 24thand Speedway. The only way to reach this intersection by car is by traveling westbound on 24th from San Jacinto Boulevard. A greeter will direct students to the entrance to the event. There is NO parking available in front of the building. If you plan to park you will find the Speedway Garage at the corner of 27thand Speedway to be the most convenient to Welch Hall.
CALCULATORS: TAME will provide TI-Nspire calculators for students to use for the tests. Students are not permitted to use their own calculators. Calculators are permitted for the following tests: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Comprehensive Math, Statistics, Integrated Physics & Chemistry, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics. Calculators are not permitted for the following tests: 6th Grade Math, 7thGrade Math, 8thGrade Math, 6thGrade Science, 7thGrade Science, 8thGrade Science, Biology, AP Biology, Anatomy & Physiology.
PENCILS & SCRATCH PAPER: TAME will supply students with pencils and scratch paper for the tests. Students are not allowed to bring their own scratch paper.
MEALS: Lunch will be provided for registered students and volunteers only.
ADULTS: Parents/guardians are invited to attend the Welcome, Panel Discussion, and Awards Ceremony. Any children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. We look forward to seeing you at the competition on February 20th for a day of teamwork, leadership, and academic achievement!
