Talent Development

What is Talent Development?

Talent development is our first tier of gifted services. At this level of service, students are clustered with other students identified for gifted services and are placed with a teacher who has the training in teaching gifted that is required by the state. Talent development ensures that all identified elementary students complete Advanced Level Products and Performances as required in the state goal for gifted services. This enrichment opportunity is the only service in grades K-2. Talent Development is not available in grades 6-12.

What do we do?

What is ALPPs? & Why do we do it?

ALPPs stands for Advanced Level Products and Performances. This is our yearly project that is created, worked on, and presented in the Spring. This is a project that students complete on a topic of their choice. Their topic should be one that they are curious and passionate about. They will determine a research question and 5 guiding questions and conduct their research. They will compile their learning in a presentation and make a product to go with it. 5th grade complete the PYP’s Exhibition in place with ALPPs with support by homeroom teachers and their IB Units of Inquiry.
