About Mrs. Money

Hi!  My name is Haydee Money (or Sra. Dinero).  I am starting my 8th year at Spicewood and have now taught Spanish for 25 years.   I was born in El Salvador to American parents.  When I was four years old, we moved to Guatemala for my father's job.  I pretty much grew up bilingual since I lived in Guatemala until I started college. I have a MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Spanish/Education from the University of North Carolina. Besides elementary Spanish, I have taught Spanish 1, 2, 3pAP and 5AP and IB Literature in High School.   I have an amazing family. My daughter, Sarah (28) is a nurse and David, my son (25) serves in our US Navy.

I love to travel and have traveled to many different countries around the world.  I love languages and speak Spanish and English fluently and German passably.  I also picked up a bit of Japanese when my husband and I lived in Japan.

Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself.  I am looking forward to introducing your children to Spanish and the Hispanic culture this year!
