The Wilson reading program follows a ten part lesson plan that addresses phonemic awareness, phonics and word study, encoding, high frequency/sight word instruction, fluency, vocabulary, and listening and reading comprehension in a sequential and multisensory approach. Students progress through each step of the program until they reach mastery. Each step contains a review of previous concepts based on student assessment and need.
