The 2nd grade team firmly believes that our students deserve the chance to just be kids after school and on the weekends.  They need to run, play, form friendships, and enjoy time with their families.  For this reason, we have truly thought through our homework expectations.

We do, however, understand that the only way to improve at something is to work hard and practice.  Because of this, we ask that our students practice reading and math facts each week.  We have determined a "minutes per week" homework plan for the students to use as a guideline.  These minutes can be divided among the week in a way that fits each family's schedule.  A calendar may be provided to help guide this practice.

Reading: 60 minutes per week

Math facts: 30 minutes per week (Reflex requires sessions to be at least 15 minutes to show growth.)

Each teacher will have his/her own way of showing homework completion and may have additional expectations.
