● Measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
● Loss of taste or smell
● Cough
● Difficulty breathing
● Shortness of breath
● Fatigue
● Headache
● Chills
● Sore throat
● Congestion or runny nose
● Shaking or exaggerated shivering
● Significant muscle pain or ache
● Diarrhea
● Nausea or vomiting
If yes, your student must stay home, then they must meet one of the following sets of criteria for returning to school after illness AND be cleared by the campus nurse or administrator before returning to school:
24 hours fever-free* (without the use of fever-reducing medication); AND symptom(s) have resolved or greatly improved - enough that your child can fully participate; AND at least 10 days have passed since the day symptom(s) first appeared.
OR
You provide official documentation from his/her medical provider which states an alternative diagnosis to COVID-19 and does not have a communicable illness;
AND has been fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication); AND is well enough to fully participate.
OR
You provide negative COVID-19 test results; AND has been fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication); AND is well enough to fully participate.

"Before returning to school, students must be fever free (below 100 degrees) for 24 hours without the need of fever reducing medicine."
Nurses cannot distribute any over the counter medication to students that has not been provided by a parent or guardian along with a completed medication administration form.
Use of crutches/wheelchair in the school setting
RRISD does not provide crutches/wheelchairs for use in the school setting. Elevator Keys are available for students with impaired mobility and have a doctor's note stating student is not able to use stairs.
