EXAMPLES-------------EXAMPLES---------------EXAMPLES
Here are 3 pages to serve as exemplars/examples for a (1) weekly with a skeleton templated, (2) a weekly after the week's time skeleton with diary entries, and (3) an example monthly being used in current month.

Footstompers! Essentials!!!
CADETS: some have asked what is the grading rubric for the planner. This is impossible to say. It varies based on what planner skill we've most recently addressed as they layer and layer upon each other. That said, here is a list of "do these things" and you will always have a high planner score!!!
* A/B correctly noted in small print on Current and Future (C&F) Monthly pages (often messed up by cadets) only thing worse than having no A/b on the calendar is having the WRONG A/B on the calendar.
*A/B correctly noted in small print on C&F Weekly pages
*Skeleton templated out for the C&F Weeks (skeleton should be abbreviated, should have a box in the front to indicate status, and should allow for room for you to enter a diary entry once that block of time is complete).
*Diary entries are the short "what you did" in that class notes that you write next to skeleton items. E.g. your skeleton may have "[ ]BIO:". After Biology class you would write your diary entry that is as descriptive as possible while being super concise, such as, "frog dssctn lab".
*Monthly calendar should have more than just A/B. It should have things that are significant, and or scheduled over time (like work, or football practice, or tae kwon do training), also, should have family and friends birthdays, trips, major/big assignments/tests, end of 9 weeks, exams, SAT, PSAT, holidays w/ no school, etc.
*Homework list (HW List): a major portion of the grade. This list should capture ALL the homework/assigned work you are given in a week! All of it. Even if you're assigned a worksheet and you get it done in the class period it should be written down and then you color in the box as complete. At the end of a week you should be able to look at the list and it pretty much describe the work load you accomplished...or at least, were assigned that week. This translates into if I'm looking at a week from the past, a homework list with less than 7 items is 95% of the time either incomplete or to generalized (they didn't break assignments into 30min chunks.) If i'm looking at a week while in the middle of that week...say on a wednesday of a current week, I would expect there to be 4+ items for sure. Again, the HW List is weighted heavy and one of the primary purposes of your planner.
*To Do List. Your TD list is separate from your HW list. The TD list has the same # of items tendencies as your HW list (7+ items at end of week, 4+ items at midweek). The TD list is a struggle for many cadets. It's easier if you think of it as ALL the other things I NEED to do, WANT to do, and PLAN to do that are not school work. So, i've seen this list 20+ for some cadets even. Things like, [ ]plan movie with Danny, [ ]ask Shelly to Military Ball, [ ] ask mom for $25 for movies this Fri, [ ]clean up the laundry rm for mom w/o her asking (do this before asking for $), [ ]ask work for day off on Sat 10/2 Tiger Challenge, etc.
If you get the above right and keep it up, you will find that this is a very easy grade that will be extremely beneficial and stress-reducing for you. Think Win Win!
We use a Legend or Key to ensure that you do not forget a task/event. Basically, your legend/ key is how you quickly indicate your progress on a line item in your planner.
This way nothing gets lost, forgotten, missed, etc.
Here is an example of using the "Skeleton"! You should have these penciled out at LEAST 2 weeks, 3 to 4 weeks is ideal!
Note the "Daily Habits"! Follow these and you will excel! In all your endeavors!
How to fill out your Grade Check Form in your planner!
Make sure:
Label the blocks with your classes
Thicken the box around any class with less than 70
Below is the feedback from this round of planner checks. ***This tells you what to make sure you have for success in the next round!!***
* Skeleton needs to be complete 2 weeks into the future.
* Start listing ALL your homework and To-dos in the "notes/reminder section on the right. This way you have a SINGLE place to look for all your homework and things to get done each week.
* on your daily space, write next to your skeleton what actually took place in class. Like a diary.
* be careful. Don't just put a box and just color in a box. Those boxes need to be important and show you what is Undone, what has been started, etc. That is your self-check to ensure nothing is lost, forgotten, etc.
* RAKs, make sure you are documenting them, and we should be beyond the minor things like held door. Find things that are more meaningful. That doesn't mean more time or more work. Think, more meaningful.
* Use the boxes for self-check. If it is done, color it in. If half done, color in half, if you didn't finish put an arrow to the right to forward the task.
*Your planner, should have all those things you must do each week. Phone calls you have to make, people you need to speak with, actions you have to take (e.g. go to DMV, put halloween costume together, wash uniform, etc.)
*You should have A/B on your weekly circled, and written in on your monthly (not wasting space).
* Bottom line, use the tool more! Simply use it 2minutes in a highly focused manner, 5 times a day (a whole 10min). This will win you back at least double your investment each day! Giving you more time to do with as you please. Decrease the required energy and effort to maintain your current performance, allowing you to perform better if you so choose.
* Look at and attempt to use the tool as well as some of the examples on the webpage: https://goo.gl/WdW5LT
FOR those that are ready for more and seek to further improve their skillset in planning / organization and productivity, google search,
