ACC Enrollment Steps

Students that are interested in taking dual credit courses should review the information below. The steps listed will walk you through the process to become eligible to register. Please contact your counselor if you have any questions. 

Returning Students (Please Read)

You will only need to complete Step 5 (submit the Google Form). Please upload your Math score report (if you are taking a course that requires a passing Math score and you have not previously submitted it).

Juniors in UT Austin OnRamps English (Please Read)

Juniors in OnRamps English III who would like to take D/C English their Senior Year will need to complete the ACC New Student Steps and submit the Checklist Form. 

You will not have to submit test scores. You are required to submit your UT Austin transcript to the ACC Admissions Office. Please note that you must accept the college credit for both semesters of OnRamps English to be eligible to take Dual Credit English IV.

Deadlines

The following deadlines have been established by RRISD and ACC. Please make sure all of the required steps are completed by the following dates. We are unable to make exceptions. 


Spring 2024 - All Students (New & Returning)

September 18, 2023

Summer 2024 - All Students (New & Returning)

March 5, 2024

Fall 2024 - All Students (New & Returning)

April 1, 2024

Step 1: Attend a Student Information Session

The Student Information Sessions are a great opportunity to learn all about the process to take dual credit courses. We will review the various steps and also share helpful information about what to expect when you take a dual credit course. Although not required, students are strongly encouraged to attend one session. All sessions will take place in the 1100 Lecture Hall.

Step 2: Complete an ACC Application & activate your ACC email account

Note: This is not your ACC application. You must complete this step before moving on to the actual application.

Step 3: Complete the online Orientation

Complete the required new student HS Programs online Orientation and Assessment: 

https://hsporientation.austincc.edu/

*Failure to complete the orientation and its assessment quiz will result in a registration hold! 

Step 4: Testing 

Students taking dual credit courses will need to meet college readiness standards by taking the TSI test. It will be administered at RRHS or students can choose to take it at ACC. There are testing exemptions (please see below).


TSI Passing Scores (after January 11, 2021)

ELAR - 945 and Essay 5 OR < 945 with Diagnostic Level 5 or > and Essay 5

Math - 950 or <950 with Diagnostic Level 6

TSI Testing at RRHS

Please complete the registration form if you would like to take the TSI test at RRHS. Space is limited so please sign up early. Please email Mr. Allen Stewart, Assistant Principal, with any TSI questions.

TSI Testing at ACC

If you choose to take the TSI at ACC, you must schedule it at an ACC campus Assessment Center.  The cost of the test is $29.00. 

 Complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) prior to testing at www.austincc.edu/tsiprep. Purchase your test ticket and present it with your PAA Completion Certificate and Photo ID to the Assessment Center staff upon arrival for testing.

Step 5: Gather required documents & submit the checklist

ACC Contract

Please read this carefully. Use blue or black ink only! Click here to access the contract. You will only have to submit the contract once. 

Test Score Report (if applicable)

You will need to submit a copy of your PSAT/SAT/ACT score report or TSI Score Report 

Google Form Checklist

You must complete the following form to be entered on the campus Enrollment Spreadsheet that is used by ACC to determine eligibility and process students to be registration ready. 

The deadline to submit the Fall Google Form has passed.

The deadline to submit the Summer Google Form has passed.

Please note that it will take several weeks for your information to be processed. You will be notified if you have any holds and also when you are cleared to register.
