Social & Emotional Learning
Project Culture
We build our school culture by emphasizing mental and physical wellness, student-to-student support, and relationship building. Community is one of the cornerstones of innovative schools. It’s what ensures that everyone feels emotionally safe and is thriving.

Wellness Plan
Every student at ECHS has a Wellness Plan housed in their PLP.
Building Culture & Community
ECHS is wonderfully innovative. We are small by design and build long term relationships through our caring staff who facilitate multiage families. Students remain with the same family teacher for four years. At ECHS our systems promote academic and social/emotional support through

ACC advising
ECHS is a Restorative Practices campus. We circle-up for Family each Friday. Most of the time our circles promote community, team-building, and maintaining our positive, supportive school culture. There are other times when we use circles to restore. Restorative circles are formed in response to things like miscommunication, gossiping, drama, disagreements, or breaking ECHS or ACC school rules. Those invited to a circle could include students, parents, school administrators, and counselors.
RELATIONAL CAPACITY
AVID helps teachers relate to students of diverse cultures, languages, and backgrounds.
HIGH EXPECTATIONS
AVID teachers know that all students are capable, often challenging many core beliefs.
COLLABORATION, INQUIRY, AND ORGANIZATION
Students come alive when building these skills through work that is not prescriptive.
LAYERS ON EXISTING CURRICULUM
Teachers facilitate learning without layering on a new curriculum. Teachers have the flexibility to add tools to augment learning of any subject.
