Welcome Parents & Students
My name is Eileen Treanor and I am your child’s fifth grade math teacher this year! Here's a little information about me:
- I grew up in Connecticut, lived in Aurora, Illinois for 5 years and then moved to Austin, Texas.
- I have been in Austin for 8 years.
- I have two boys, Jack (14) and Liam (10).
- I have been married to my husband for 17 years.
- I have two dogs, Maggie and Charlie.
- I worked as a paralegal for 15+ years.
- I obtained my bachelor's degree in Legal Studies from Western Connecticut State University.
I am working towards my Masters in Elementary Education (MEd): Early Childhood - 6th Grade with ESL at Texas State University. This is my first year teaching and am thrilled to be here at Round Rock ISD! I enjoy attending my older son's baseball games, reading, trying out new restaurants, watching movies and traveling with my family.
MY PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING MATH is to incorporate hand-on activities that will initiate the active learning process. I utilize both manipulatives and technology to help children visualize the concepts we are discussing. I plan my lessons to be inclusive for all students by preparing both challenging and adjusted lessons as needed. I also work especially hard to capture the attention of the children I teach by maintaining a fun and enthusiastic attitude in my classroom. I teach the joys and excitement of math by encouraging discovery and incorporating technology throughout my lessons.
I am so excited to have your child in my class and I look forward to a terrific year getting to know your kiddo. You and I will work together to make sure your child's fifth grade year is a complete success! I am honored to be part of this exciting time in your child’s life.
