About Me: I am thrilled to begin my 3rd year as the TAG Specialist at Robertson Elementary. This is my 6th year at Robertson and my 11th year in education. Throughout my career I've taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and currently TAG (Talented and Gifted) for grades K-5. I grew up in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, North Carolina with my mom, dad, and 3 younger brothers. This is my 6th year living in Texas, and I am absolutely loving it here (minus the sometimes oppressive heat.) Outside of the classroom I enjoy hiking, volleyball, dancing, traveling, and eating delicious food (especially BBQ and Tex-Mex; queso is life.) I have a slight obsession with coffee and go to Starbucks way too often.
Philosophy: I have a passion for education and love working with kids. I believe every child can grow and I will aim to help your child reach their fullest potential. TAG classes can be challenging, but I will encourage your child to face challenges head on with grit and determination. I will create a respectful, rigorous, safe, differentiated, collaborative, and engaging learning environment for your child. I believe parents and teachers are partners in their child's education. By using teamwork, collaboration, and open communication parents and teachers can create the ideal learning experience for students. I look forward to the 2021-2022 school.
