PE Classes

RIDGEVIEW PHYSICAL EDUCATION 2023-2024

Description of PE Classes:

PE/Wellness-  This is a 6th grade level class.  All 6th graders are required to be enrolled in this PE required course or have chosen to be in our Dance program.  We will concentrate on functional fitness and fitness activities in this course.  These students generally do not have the current desire to participate in any of the sports we will offer them as 7th graders.

Pre-Athletics - This is also a 6th grade level class.  It will mirror the PE/Wellness class, moreover, this class is designed to prepare our future student/athletes for 7th grade sports we offer here at Ridgeview.  This will include: Cross Country, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field and Soccer.

7/8 Sports Fitness - This is a 7th & 8th grade level class.  This class is designed as a continuation class from PE/Wellness class for those students who do not participate in our Athletic sports program we offer at Ridgeview.  This class is an elective class for 7th and 8th graders who wish to fulfill the 2 year PE requirement.

Uniforms:

Uniforms:  This is a class requirement for all classes. 

ALL 6th Graders (Regardless if they are in PE/Wellness or Pre-Athletics)  will need to purchase our 6th grade PE uniform during our Panther Welcome Night scheduled for Wednesday, 9 Aug from 5-7 pm at Ridgeview middle school or during the first week of school.  These uniforms have been bulk ordered from our vendor and should arrive prior to Panther Welcome Night.  Please understand that we always anticipate uniform issues with this number of student population.  All we ask is that every student wear a grey athletic shirt and black shorts until they receive their uniform.  No action will be taken against a student who has not yet received his/her uniform.

7/8th Grade Sports Fitness Class - Students will need to wear our PE uniform and they can purchase this uniform at our Panther Welcome or during the first week of school.  They are also welcome to wear any uniform they have previously purchased from Ridgeview.
