Pezucation!

Hello! My name is Heather Pedraza and this is my website!

A little about me...

This is my 24th year of teaching high school science. I received a BS in chemistry with a minor in physics from The University of Texas at Austin in 1999. I finished my Master's in Educational Technology at Texas State University in 2016.

I host the knitting and crochet club here at Cedar Ridge High School and my current favorite author is Brandon Sanderson, but I also enjoy Dean Koontz and Neil Gaimen.

I have two daughters💞 One is in high school here in RRISD and the other is in college at UT Arlington (got accepted into the nursing program).

My husband is an AP at Laurel Mountain elementary school❤️.

I have two cats and two dogs, but Remus is my baby!

I love reading, knitting, and crochet but also enjoy camping and playing games (video and tabletop) with my friends and family.

We all love to travel, especially when we can do it with out extended family!

But Camping is our happy place, wherever it may be.

A little about my teaching philosophy:

I believe that every student can learn. It is important to get to know my students as individuals as that relationship and the enthusiasm of the classroom teacher are the leading indicators of student success.

We were born to learn. Tapping into that innate sense of curiosity and providing a safe and supportive environment to take chances and make mistakes is the best way to create life-long learners.

A few of my badges. These are programs that I have participated in and provided professional development to other teachers about.
