At Pearson Ranch we offer voice lessons for students interested in investing more time in their personal instrument. Much like trumpet lessons, or tennis lessons, taking voice is a way for a singer to improve and define their voice. Please see the information below if you are interested. Voice lessons will be offered during your student's choir/musical theatre class period in most cases and outside of school for those that wish to have lessons then.
Please Read this sheet if interested and fill out this google form for more information:
Interested in voice but in need of a scholarship or assistance? Fill out this form below as well as the one above.
Ms. Godsoe has been teaching voice for 37 years, including 17 years at RRISD high schools and middle schools. In addition to teaching at PRMS, she teaches at McNeil HS and in her home studio. She holds a Bachelor’s degree is in vocal performance from Austin College, where she discovered her love of teaching, and a Master’s degree in vocal pedagogy from Texas Women’s University. She has sung with many choirs in Austin, including Conspirare’s professional and symphonic choirs, Austin Vocal Arts Ensemble and Inversion Ensemble. She has served church choirs as alto section leader, most recently at St. Louis Catholic Church. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She also owns a music publishing company with her husband, selling jazz band music to schools around the world.
Ms. Godsoe loves to help students discover their voices and develop healthy habits for singing all types of music. She has spent this SOSH (Summer Of Staying Home) adding to her “toolbox” of singing techniques and is excited to share them with her students. (She has also been perfecting her sourdough bread skills and may need to start giving it away to students – properly distanced with porch pick-up, of course!)
