About the Director
Mrs. Goodman, is a graduate of McMurry University with a Bachelor's in Music Education. A native Texan, Megan grew up in west Texas and was active in her high school and church choir programs. That grew into a love of choral music and teaching. Megan taught for 11 years at Marble Falls Middle School growing the program from 55 students to almost 300, with 7 performing choirs. She then went on to teach at Vandegrift High School as the associate director for 3 years. There she had the pleasure of assisting the Varsity Women's Chorale for their performance at the American Choral Director Association National Convention. She is excited to lead Pearson Ranch Rattler Choir. GO RATTLERS!
Her choirs have consistently received UIL sweepstakes and Best in class awards. Over the years, Megan has also been an active voice teacher, judge, TMEA clinician, and choir clinician in the area. She loves helping students find their passion for music. Megan has received many accolades including being voted Most Valuable Teacher by MFMS in the fall of 2010, was named MFMS Teacher of the Year 2011-2012. Megan was the TMEA/UIL Region 26 Middle School Coordinator for three years. Most recently she was voted teacher of the week in October 2022 at PRMS.
She has sung with Austin Civic Chorus and the Austin Symphony and served as the Alto Section leader for two years there. In her free time Megan loves spending time with family, her dogs, and traveling.
