About the Counselor:

After serving as a Counselor in RRISD for the past 21 years, I can truly say that each year has been rewarding. The joy in watching the students grow from Kindergarten students to Fifth graders getting ready for the next phase of their education has been second only to watching the successes of my own three children (now young adults) who also attended RRISD schools. I am a Floridian/Texan as I grew up in Florida and attended the University of Florida - Go Gators! And, I received my graduate degree from the University of Texas in Arlington.

My goal as a Counselor mirrors the RRISD School Counseling Mission. The mission of the RRISD school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing the academic, career and personal/social development of all students.

Professional School Counselors:

provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement, and facilitate social-emotional learning.
assist the support system to ensure all students in RRISD have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills at the highest level to be contributing members of a diverse community.
abide by the professional school counseling ethics as advocated by the American School Counselor Association.
participate in professional development activities essential to maintain a quality school counseling program.
