The RRISD Primary Report Card is a standards-based continuum, meaning that progress is reported on the knowledge and skills your child is expected to master at each grade level. The continuum is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS):
Limited Progress towards Standard (LP) — Exhibits skill/concept with direct guidance
Approaching Standard (AS) — Exhibits skill/concept with minimal guidance
Met Standard (MS) — Exhibits mastery of skill/concept
It is important to note that for each indicator on the report card, it is the “Met Standard” level that is the goal and indicates “end-of-year” mastery for that concept or skill.
Because “MS” indicates a child mastered end-of-year grade-level expectations for a concept or skill, it may be likely that you see "LP" or “AS” for a concept or skill on multiple report cards in a row. This might be due to us not going over that concept or skill yet in class, or it might be because your child is still practicing that skill.
