WELCOME!

Welcome back! I am Mrs. Latham, and I am excited to be your math teacher this year. Let's get ready for an exciting and challenging year of math. As your teacher, I will provide every opportunity for you to be successful in my class.

 ABSENT/MAKE-UP WORK:

When you are absent, it is your responsibility to pick up missed assignments. Missed assignments will be on the absent wall in your class period. You should collect your work on the day you return to school. It is your responsibility to schedule a tutoring time for missed work.

Per district policy, you have one day for every day absent to submit make-up work. For example, if you are absent for 3 days, you have 3 days to turn in missed assignments.  Any work not turned in within the allotted time will be considered late.  Extra time may be allowed in extenuating circumstances. 

RESTROOM/WATER FOUNTAIN DURING CLASS:

Even though students are given a restroom/drink pass at the beginning of each 9 week grading period, I ask my students to only ask to go if it is an emergency. Class time is precious and should not be wasted on something that should have been taken care of during passing periods.

TUTORIALS:

Tutorials times available: 

1.) Tuesday mornings from 7:50 - 8:10 and Thursday afternoons from 3:35 - 4:10.

2.) Other times by appointment.

**Please note that tutorials are for those students who need extra help understanding a specific math concept/homework. It is NOT a time to come in to complete homework (for math or another class) because they didn't finish (I always allow time in class to work on homework the day it is assigned. I also have days dedicated specifically to working on any missing assignments).

ACADEMIC DISHONESTY:

• If you allow someone to copy your work, you BOTH earn a zero, NO corrections, and a referral.

Examples of cheating include, but are not limited to: Copying the work of others or allowing others to copy your work, including unauthorized collaboration on homework; quizzes; possession or attempted possession of tests, quizzes, or other teacher materials without permission; “cheat sheets” of any type in any form (i.e. answers, formula data, or other information that can be used without the teacher’s knowledge during a graded assessment ); use of private communication concerning graded assessments by any means, including electronic and telecommunication devices, gestures, sign language, talking, leaving the room, etc.; unauthorized use of on-line translators.
