How can I help with my student's class/school?
Life, work and school are incredibly hectic at the moment! The best ways to support your child's education is by:
Joining the LME PTA! The funding allows the operation of different clubs and activities not readily available normally.
Volunteering when you have time (School sponsored activities, field trips, etc.). Click here to go through RRISD's Volunteer Sign Up process. It takes a few days to get processed - please do early if you know you will be on campus!
Regularly checking your email for correspondence from myself and school staff.
Asking your child about what they did during school; extending their exposure to material is a great way to ensure understanding and engagement - you might just learn something new too!
"We've read every Dog Man book and if I see another I might be sick - what are some other good books?"
While I love a good comic book, I challenge my students to expand their horizons with new literature. Problem is, finding the right books can be tricky. Below are a few resources/books to help kickstart this at home!
Anita Silvey's 100 Best Books for Children (Organized by age!)
Great Books About Things Kids Love by Kathleen Odean (Book to buy on Amazon - lots of books in this one!)
