My Professional Journey

I am a proud first-generation college graduate.  In 1996 I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in philosophy and government.  I received my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas State University.  I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Organizational Change and Leadership at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX.

I began my career in Houston in 1998 at a small private school for students with emotional and behavioral differences.  From 2000-2003 I taught social studies grades 6th-8th in Houston ISD where I held several leadership positions.  I moved to Austin in August of 2003 and taught middle school social studies in Austin ISD for 6 years at Burnet Middle School.  During this time I was team leader and social studies department chair.  Since 2009 I have worked in Round Rock ISD as a social studies teacher, holding various leadership positions including team leader and department chair at both Ridegivew and Cedar Valley Middle Schools, then served as an assistant principal at Grisham and C D Fulkes Middle Schools.  In July 2021 I was named principal of Pearson Ranch Middle School.
