Leader of the Week

Every Friday, we will choose a student from our classroom who has exhibited leadership both inside and outside of the classroom to be our Leader of the Week. This is a special time for the chosen student as we celebrate their leadership skills. Each Leader of the Week will have use of the Adventure Journal;, “class pet” and other materials necessary to complete their leader of the week “assignments”. Please read below for more details and examples of what this will look like. The leadership bag and all materials must be returned the next Friday so we can choose our next leader of the week. Thank you for your help in making this special for your child!

Assignment Examples

All About Me Poster: Help your child complete all portions of this. You can add a printed or drawn picture of them. Please help them practice presenting the poster. They will get to present it to the class on Monday morning.

Favorite Habit Activity: Please use the papers in the back of the folder to choose and write about their favorite habit. This should be their work. It will go in our class book once they return it and present thier habit to the class.

Class Adventure Journal: Your child should take our class pet on an "adventure" and write about it in our class adventure journal. It can be as simple as a trip to the park, reading, playing a game at home, etc. or you are welcome to take our pet on an adventure outside of the home. Your child should write about what they did in their own words and it should be at LEAST 3 sentences. You can add a real photograph or your child can draw an illustration to go with it. Their name and date should be at the top of the page they write on. THey will get to share their adventure on Friday when they bring the leader of the week bag back.
