Directors

Wendi Burwinkel, Head Director

Mrs. Burwinkel received her Bachelors of Music from The University Of Texas - Austin in 2007 and is proud to be starting her 18th year of teaching (9th year at MHS). Previously she was the director at Cedar Valley MS in Round Rock ISD, the Director of the Round Rock Community Youth Choir and Director at Burnet MS in Austin ISD. Her choirs consistently earn Sweepstakes at UIL and top festival awards. Chamber Singers recently won the National Choir Award through Mark of Excellence and Performance of Distinction from the 2023 Madrigal Festival.

She is a wife and mother of two children, a first degree black belt in Taekwondo, enjoys reading, Starbucks, hiking, and taking her family on mystery adventures.  She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Choral Conducting through the University of Texas at El Paso.

Sheridan White,  Assistant Director

Ms. White is in her third year of teaching and her second year at McNeil HS and RRISD. Prior to McNeil, she graduated from the University of North Texas in 2022, student taught in Keller ISD, and taught high school in Arlington ISD. During her time at UNT, she performed with the UNT Acapella choir at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) 2020 Convention and the 2021 World Premiere performance and recording of Shara Nova’s “Infinite Movement”, a partnered project with the UNT College of Music and College of Visual Arts and Design. During her studies at UNT, she studied under Dr. Jessica Napoles, Dr. Jamey Kelley, Dr. Kristina MacMullen, and Dr. Allen Hightower. 

She is also an active member of TCDA, TMEA, and her local church choir. In her freetime, Ms. White loves reading, cooking, iced oat milk lattes, and spending time with loved ones.
