Course Description
Senior-level United States Government will cover a wide variety of different topics. The topics include but are not limited to: political systems, forms of government, the US Constitution, Political Behavior, and Civil Rights and liberties in the United States. The course will analyze the impact that key people, events, and structures have had on the government of the United States. The course also provides opportunities to interpret and apply current events to topics discussed in class.
Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will have received a complete overview of the history and structures of the United States Government. Students should also have a greater understanding of the how and why the US Government functions in manner that is does. Students will have a greater understanding as to why it is important to be aware of current events and how it relates to government.
It is a state and district requirement that students pass US Government in order to graduate.
