I hope everyone has a wonderful spring break! We had a restful week at our house and feel ready to hit the ground running :)! April and May are fast and furious in the seventh grade- I can't wait to get started!

Don't forget- STAAR Writing Tutorials will be Tuesday/Thursday this week- 3:35-4:15.

2/15/19:

In the next few weeks we will begin reading Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson. Students will need a copy of the book by February 28th.

All students will need to bring their own copy of the book each day to class. Please let me know if this is a financial hardship for your family. There will be copies available to check out in the library, but students will be unable to write in those copies.

REMINDER:

***CVMS will be collecting Box Tops until Wed. Feb. 27th. All Box Tops can be turned in to Mrs. Harper- Room 328.

Happy December! We are wrapping up our poetry unit and heading into nonfiction reading strategies!

Progress reports will come out this Thursday (12/16). Please make sure you retake/makeup all grade below a 70%.

Scholastic Reading Club is a great way to help our classroom library grow! Order the best books online and encourage reading throughout the year. Follow these step-by-step instructions to order books online:

Owning a personal copy will enable students to take notes in the book and use the notes for quizzes/tests. Half Price Books, Amazon, and Book People should all have copies available.

Welcome to a new school year! I am so excited to get to know your child. We are going to have a great year!

  • A composition book (Writer's Notebook)
  • Pencil
  • Personal reading materials (book, magazines, e-reader)
  • Earbuds/headphones (not a must, but so nice to have)
