Holly Nichols has held a love for journalism for 29 years. She got her start in television productions in high school, spending time behind the camera to cover football, soccer, and other sports, in front of the camera to give the morning announcements, attending a trip to Miami to cover an art convention and interview Sharon Stone, and interning at the local NBC station, WJHG Newschannel 7. 

Before the internship was done, she was hired as a production assistant for the night crew. She also interned at a local radio station, WILN Island 106, and was hired before that internship ended as a board operator. 

After three years in radio as a board op, she left radio to take on more responsibility in TV. She worked as a production assistant and then moved up to the live truck operator and photographer position at the TV station. She also assisted as the morning producer. 

Eventually, she left WJHG and joined WMBB News 13, the ABC affiliate in that town. She worked as a production assistant and live truck operator and then moved into commercial production. During this time, she finished her AA in Radio and TV Broadcasting, her BS in Professional Communication with a minor in Business, and her MS in Corporate and Public Communication.

She and her family relocated to Texas when she left WMBB and she worked toward her teaching certificate in journalism. She began teaching at Travis EC High School in Austin and then moved to Stony Point High School in Round Rock. She has been teaching for eight years and a yearbook adviser for six years.
