FIRST HOMEWORK!

ANIMALS!!!!: It will be easier for you to learn about ecosystems if your knowledge of animals and ecosystems is up to speed. Your first and on-going assignment this year is to research and animal or watch an animal video each day till Halloween. Can be any length, from any source, and I'll provide themes for each week. The theme for the first week is "Small Furry Mammals". How many can you name right now?

Several good sources for videos or written information are: Animal Planet, Discover Channel, Nova, National Geographic, BBC, Brave Wilderness, The Hunt, even wikipedia and many more. Aim for a minimum of 15 minutes a day 4-5 days a week is a good goal to have. Once a week you will do a write up or presentation on one of your favorites. We do a lot during 4 units with ecology and ecosystems and identifying plants and animals, along with Food Chains and Food Webs. Most seventh graders have a hard time because they don't know much about who eats who in the animal kingdom. We need you to expand your knowledge of animals and ecosystems and fast! Remember you are also welcome to READ about animals. It doesn't have to be a video!

SUPPLIES: Just paper and pencil for taking notes. Can be in a binder or a notebook is fine.
