Hi 5th Grade Stallions!
My name is Andrew Garcia, and I am so excited going into my 4th year as a Sommer Stallion! I will be your child's ELA/SS teacher this year! I graduated from Texas State University in May 2020 with a Bachelors in exercise & sports science with focus in education. I am also certified in ESL, TAG and Physical Education. Through my time in San Marcos, I’ve student taught all levels in physical education, history, and elementary school. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and elementary school is where my heart has always been! Fun fact, during my 5th grade graduation I gave a speech stating that when I grow up I want to be an elementary teacher because it’s the best place on earth, and to this day I still believe it. In the coming years I plan to pursue my master’s in education because I never want to stop learning!

A Little About Me!
My absolute favorite thing in the world to do in my free time is lounge around watching movies, sports, and eating with my fiancé, my two cats and dog. I genuinely enjoy being home and spending time with my little family because it makes me happy, I moved around all over Texas as a child and this instilled my love of being with family. We also love to travel, some of the places we’ve been to include: Miami, New York, Charlotte, and Mexico! I could talk NFL & NBA all day, my favorite team is the Carolina Panthers. I even named my cat Panther, so you could say I’m a Panthers fanatic! I could read all day, I love books about philosophy, health, sports, and teaching. My favorite books include: Every Day I Fight (Stuart Scott), and Eleven Rings (Phil Jackson). I love exercise and going out for walks in the mornings and evenings. I did most of my growing up here in Round Rock and feel so thrilled that this is the place I will now call home!
