TAG Referral Information

TAG Referral Periods:

There are three different "referral periods" in RRISD: 

• Fall Referral Period - Students currently enrolled in RRISD may be referred in the fall (see information below). Testing will take place in January. 

• Summer Referral Period - Students who enroll after the fall referral period or plan to enroll the following fall are eligible for summer testing. 

• Transfer Referral Period - Students who transfer to RRISD from a TAG program in another school district are eligible for transfer testing.  These students are tested within 30 days of moving into RRISD.  If a student moves in 30 days or less before the end of the school year, they will be tested during the summer.

Summer 2024 Testing Information

Summer TAG Testing is available in July for students who are NEW to Round Rock ISD.  These students would have enrolled in Round Rock ISD between December 2023 and July 2024. This testing is NOT open to students who have been enrolled in RRISD for the entire 2023-2024 school year. Those who qualify for this testing opportunity and would like to register will need to contact their campus for the online registration link.  

Registration for TAG Summer Testing will close on July 19th. Testing will occur on July 30-31. Students will attend both days. For students in grades 1-5, two assessments will be given over 2 days. For grades 6-12, students will be given three assessments over 2 days. These will be a half day; however, please block out the whole day, as some students will test in the morning and some in the afternoon. SEE SCHEDULE BELOW

Decisions for placement will be made at the campus level in August.
