In English I, students discover real-world applications for complex reading and writing skills. Students will explore modes of writing and investigate methods for improving reading comprehension while reflecting on their personal development and place within our school community. Advanced English will extend learning into socratic seminars, creative learning, and more student-led activity and exploration.

Grading Policy
60% = Daily Grades (classwork, homework, reading quizzes, prep work, etc.)
40% = Test Grades (exams, essays, projects, most timed writings)
Work is considered late if not turned in on due date by 11:59PM. Late work is docked 5 points per calendar day, and, after one week, the maximum grade that can be earned is a 70.
Major test grades can be corrected up to a 70 within the given marking period.
