Happy Friday 5th Grade Families!
We had a wonderful first FULL week of 5th grade. Your students are amazing! Here’s just a few reminders for next week:
Due to food allergies in all 5th grade classes, students are not allowed to share food. Please remind your student if they pack extra food for snack or lunch, they cannot share with another student. Also, they may not trade their food with any other student.
Students are expected to bring their charged chromebooks and their chargers to school every day. Most students received their new chromebooks this week with a Gumdrop case on it. The case has a district sticker on it, students are not allowed to take this case or the sticker off. Here is the link to our District Acceptable Use Policy if you have any questions. If your student has not received their new chromebook, they will next week. If a student was absent on that day or did not have their chromebook, they were unable to get it this week.
Please remember to send a jacket or sweatshirt in with your student. Our rooms can get very cold at times.

Math- We are adding and subtracting decimals using place value. We are also starting our iReady Math diagnostics.

Social Studies- Our classes are analyzing the elements of maps and geography.
iReady Information:
i-Ready is an online program that will help us determine your child’s strengths and areas for growth, personalize their learning, and monitor their progress throughout the school year. To begin, we’ll be administering the i-Ready Diagnostic from 8/25–9/5. It’s critical that students try their best so we can get accurate data that will help inform our instruction and drive the online lessons students receive.
Our weekly newsletters will come out on Fridays. Previous newsletters can be found on our grade level website.
Have a great weekend!
