About the Teachers

Hello! My name is Brody Blackmon. This will be my fourth year teaching and my fourth year here at England. I am very excited to be joining the 5th Grade Team after 3 years in 4th Grade. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and am currently taking classes at Lamar University to obtain my Master's in Educational Administration.

I grew up in Round Rock ISD, attending Great Oaks Elementary, Cedar Valley Middle School, and Round Rock High School. I am very thankful for all of the experiences I have gained in my time in RRISD, as they have helped shape me into the person and educator that I am today.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year and helping your child develop the skills necessary to be successful in the world of Middle School and Beyond!

 I love teaching 5th grade and am excited to share this year with you! I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in English.  This is my 9th year at Elsa England, and my 15th year of teaching overall.  I have previously taught Social Studies and English at the secondary level.  My husband and I have three girls.   Mattie is a graduate student at Texas A&M University.  She and her husband Parker live in Belton, where he is a Lieutenant in the US Army stationed at Fort Cavazos.   Emily is a sophomore at Texas A&M and Avery is a junior at Round Rock High School.  When I am not at school, I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking, and socializing with friends and family.  

5th grade is a wonderful time for students.  I look forward to working with each of you to prepare you academically and socio-emotionally for the middle school adventure that lies ahead.  Email is my primary form of communication. Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.

Hi! My name is Jude Eaton, and I'm a 5th grade teacher at Elsa England. I am excited to be starting my eighth year here at England, and I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones. 

I graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a degree in Psychology and pursued my studies in education soon after. After teaching middle school off and on for 10 years, I decided to move on to teaching elementary kiddos, mainly 5th grade.  I am currently in a dual masters program for school counseling/licensed professional counselor.

I grew up in sunny Southern California, just 10 minutes from Disneyland. My family and I moved to Austin in 2015 and have loved everything about it- the music, food, and most of all, the hospitality. 

Besides spending quality time with my kids and husband, I enjoy checking out new restaurants, jogging, reading, photography, and traveling.

My name is Geurin Grigsby and I am from Ruston, Louisiana.  I attended Louisiana Tech University where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.  I moved to Austin ten years ago, and started pursuing a teaching career. I substitute taught in AISD for three years, as well as teaching Fifth Grade Science for a year.  I also work a kid’s camp every summer with a group called CampFire.  I enjoy music, sports, and the outdoors. Five years ago I received a Master’s degree in Elementary Education at Texas State University. It was one of the most challenging and rewarding things I have ever accomplished, and I want my students to feel the same sense of accomplishment that I felt every semester. 

My class will be a comfortable, safe, and hardworking atmosphere where students will have every opportunity to reach their highest potential.  I look forward to what I know will be a great year. I am so excited to be your teacher during this important year of learning. I have a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in  Zoology. I earned my Master's degree in Social Work majoring in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work. I worked as an Adoption Counselor and Birth Parent Counselor both in India as well as here in the United States. I had an opportunity to live in Connecticut and Arizona before moving to the beautiful and growing city of Austin. Following my teaching certification through Region XIII, I joined the wonderful Elsa England family.

This is my ninth year teaching fifth grade at Elsa England Elementary. I have a teaching certification in 4th-8th Math and Science, EC - 6th Generalist, and ESL. I enjoyed being a part of the Writing in Science, Heart of Texas Summer Writing Institute at the University of Texas, and the Reading Rocks cohort. 

 I have been married to my husband for 23 years. My son is a junior at Round Rock High School. My daughter is a junior at the University of Texas, Austin. Our dog, Gypsy completes our family. He is crazy but adds joy to our world! I love reading, painting, and dancing apart from teaching my precious students. Although, I have to admit that I love to enjoy my solitude just sitting and staring into space with a cup of chai!

I am Anna Scott. I am excited to join the fifth grade team this year! I grew up in San Angelo, Tx and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in General Education PreK-6th at Angelo State University. This will be my fourth year of teaching and my first year in fifth grade! 

My husband and I moved to Austin in June 2021, and we have fallen in love with the city. We have 3 fur babies that complete our home: Merle, our Great Dane and Franq and Daryl, our two cats. I love traveling, reading, listening to music and hanging out with my friends and family.
