Safety Patrol
We feel that Safety Patrol offers a very important lesson in safety, courtesy, volunteerism, and responsibility for your student. We strive to make it a positive experience for them and your support is very important in obtaining that goal.
Because Safety Patrol duty is a privilege and they represent England Elementary to the public, we require students to have and maintain certain qualifications to be accepted.
Students must always:
Be a good role model worthy of respect.
Have and keep passing grades.
Exhibit good leadership qualities, including good citizenship.
Have parent/guardian approval and support.
Have the approval of the Safety Patrol director and classroom teachers.
Be prompt.
Be committed to safety rules.
Be able to work daily for approximately a two-week period (Mornings: 7:15-7:30 or Afternoons: 2:55-3:10). Talk to or email Coach McCormick if you will not be able to attend your duty on any of your assigned days.
Be committed for their entire three-week period and not quit throughout.
Be able to communicate courteously and appropriately with students and adults.
Stay focused when on patrol and not visiting with friends.
Report any perceived dangerous safety issues to the teacher on duty.
If you are on the afternoon shift and are being picked up, rides must be here NO LATER than 3:10.
Students may be removed from Safety Patrol for not complying with any of the above requirements.
