About Ms. Moore

Welcome parents and students!

I am thrilled to have you apart of my classroom this year! I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia and recently graduated from Georgia Southern University. I moved to Texas this past summer and I am loving it! This school year will be a year of firsts for me! My first year at DFT and my first year of teaching! First grade seems incredibly fitting and I cannot wait to start this journey  with my students.

When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me nose to nose with my sweet bunny, Hazel! Hazel is full of personality and keeps me smiling. I love being outside, reading a good book, yoga, and baking up tons and tons of cookies. A few of my values include, inclusivity, compassion, and emotional intelligence.

I could not be more excited for this year! Thank you for allowing your child to be apart of our class family!

1st Grade HFW word list document

A  few games/activities you can play with a few words at a time are below:

Memory

Make your own card deck with two of each word.  Shuffle and place the cards face down in rows.  When it's your turn, turn over two cards and try to get a matching pair.  If you don't have a match, turn the cards back over.  The winner is the player with the most pairs.

Go Fishing

Write words on an index card and put a paperclip on the top of the card. Tie a magnet to a string and tie the string around a pencil.  Ask Kaylee to fish for words by touching the magnet to the paperclip on the correct word you call out.

Magic Words

Write words with a white crayon and use a dark marker to color over the word written with the white crayon.  Watch the word appear after you color over it with the dark marker.
