The purpose of this class was to expose students to a variety of different topics of engineering. This class was very heavily based on 3D modeling with Autodesk Inventor where we completed numerous projects.
Some projects listed below, One great project that we completed was the Train Project, which brought together many of the skills we learned over the course of the year.
Product History:
This project taught me and my partner to work together and to divide the work evenly. It has also taught us how to get useful information and how to research efficiently. Honestly it wasn't my favorite project that we've done. I don't have a particular reason why, I just didn't really enjoy it.
Puzzle Cube:
This project helped me out a lot as it stepped me through all the steps of the design process. In each step, we had a different task to do relating to the design process. First we had to define the problem, or Read the criterion. Next, we used generating concepts by drawling out multiple different ideas for working puzzle cubes. Then, we Developed a solution by choosing an idea and making it in auto desk inventor. we modeled all the individual parts first, then did an assembly for all the parts. After that, we constructed and tested a prototype by gluing together wooden cubes in the shape of our parts and colored them. Finally we evaluated the solution by checking to make sure we had followed all the criterion. This project also helped me learn how to use Autodesk Inventor better and faster. I already had some experience but I learned more functions and shortcuts to speed up the process. I really enjoyed this project. I enjoyed the challenge and found it quite helpful.
