As the Co-Owner of Game Worlds, Leif has been teaching video game development for over six years. After graduating from Texas A&M, he worked as a game developer with a focus on gameplay and system design before moving to Austin to partner with the startup Game Worlds. In working with students from a variety of backgrounds, Leif has had the opportunity to expand his understanding of why we love games, and has frequently reincorporated this knowledge into his lessons. On a never ending quest to turn gamers into game developers, Leif is excited to share his passion for building unique and engaging video games with students of all ages!

There's a TON of work that goes into building video games. From coding and art to music and sound effects, it’s often difficult to know where to begin. Luckily, that’s what Game Worlds is here for! Through summer camps, after-school programs, and workshops, we’ve been turning gamers into game developers for more than 6 years. Over the course of this presentation, we’ll discuss our favorite tools and techniques, as well as some common misconceptions and pitfalls in early development. By the time we’re through, you’ll have everything you need to start building and sharing games that are both fun AND functional!
