REGION AUDITIONS

Region Auditions are for 7th and 8th Grade students only. Auditions will take place on October 25th at East View High School. If you make a Region Choir, you will need to be available on November 1st for rehearsals from 9:30 AM - 4 PM with the concert at 4:30 PM.

Registration opens at 8:00 AM, and auditions start at 9:00 AM. Auditions are randomized to ensure fairness and anonymous judging as our judges are made up of Middle School and High School directors from RRISD and surrounding districts. Because of this, we will not know when exactly your student will audition, or when exactly they will finish. All students should be done auditioning before 12 PM. Students with a school-related conflict (band auditions, cheer workshop, etc.) can request an early time (between 9-9:30 AM) or a late time (between 10:30-11:30 AM)

There is a $15 entry fee that will be available to submit on the online school store.

At the audition, students will need to turn in their cell phones, headphones, and smart watches. This is the policy for middle school and high school across the state of Texas for this audition process. When students are finished auditioning, they can use the phone in a designated area to contact their ride. Chromebooks are not allowed. I recommend having your student bring a snack, a book to read, a coloring book, a puzzle book, a card game, a board game, homework that doesn't involve a Chromebook; anything that does not involve electronics!

If your student is auditioning, we will need parent volunteers to hold the turned in electronics and be a chaperone until the choir director is done functioning as a judge. Volunteers can use their phone, but it is recommended to use it as little as possible. Choir directors are not allowed to interact with students in any way from the beginning of registration to the end of the auditions, so we will need someone to be with our students that are not actively auditioning.
