Hi Longhorns!  My name is Rachel Walker and I am thrilled to be one of your music teachers at Cactus Ranch Elementary.  I grew up in Round Rock ISD, graduating from Westwood HS and then I attended Baylor University and graduated with a music education degree. I also received a certification for Kodály pedagogy from Texas State University. Currently, I am seeking a certification to become a National Board Certified Teacher, which is the highest certificate I can receive for classroom pedagogy. 

I graduated a semester early from Baylor and started teaching right away in Round Rock ISD; I taught at Robertson Elementary, Great Oaks Elementary and I am currently teaching at Cactus Ranch Elementary, as you already know.  But, did you know this is my 14th year at Cactus Ranch? This is also my 21st year teaching elementary music!  All my teaching years have been in Round Rock ISD, and I am so proud of that!!!

A little bit about myself:  I have 19 year old triplets, one boy and two girls, who are sophomores in college.  Each attend a different college: A&M, the University of North Texas and the University of Texas in Dallas. I also have an incredibly smart dog named Penny.

I love making memories with my family by traveling, hiking, and playing board games.  I also love being part of our Praise Band at church, enjoy crafting when I have the time and I LOVE watching the hummingbirds at my home.
