SEL: Our lifeskill this week is Integrity- to do the right thing, even when no one is watching. We'll read the fable "Two Goats and a Bridge" and discuss how using integrity encompasses all the lifeskills.

Word Work: This week we will study the sounds that spell aw/ au/ augh like in words: lawn, haul, and caught.
ELA: We continue our study of poetry. Each day students will be "flooded" with many different poetry books. We'll practice reading poems over and over for fluency and expression as well as hunt for different poetic patterns and rhymes. Students will also have a chance to form poetry clubs to share favorite poems and nominate poems for our Poetry Hall of Fame.
Science: Plant Survival : We will identify the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds of various plants. We will explain how the different plant parts help them it obtain water, nutrients, and sunlight.
Math: We are now working on problem solving with length, money and data. Over the next few weeks we will working on reading graphs, solving problems using graphs and creating our own graphs. We will measure using customary units and we will practice counting money and solving word problems that are focused on money.
