In this first lesson of the new school year, our younger students in grades Pre-k, kinder, first grade and second grade will learn about the role of a school counselor and how the counselor can help them at school.
Third graders and Fourth Graders will be learning about tools for success at school. Their first lesson will focus on the areas that can help them succeed in school: time management, perseverance, self-control and positive self talk.
Fifth Graders' first lesson will focus on emotional health, self-care and tools to keep our emotions healthy and manageable.
All grades will learn how they can access their school counselor for support.

Each October, schools across the country take part in National Bullying Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and take action to create safe and respectful schools for all students.
At our school, we focus on teaching kindness, empathy, and how to be an upstander — someone who stands up for others and helps create a positive school community. Throughout the month, students will take part in special activities and lessons that help them:
Recognize bullying behaviors and understand how they make others feel.
Learn safe and respectful ways to respond to bullying.
Practice kindness and inclusion every day.
Know how to get help from a trusted adult.
By working together, we can make sure our school is a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and included.
Prekinders learned how to be kind and inclusive friends to all.
KInder and First Graders learned how to be bucket fillers-sharing kindness and friendship with all.
Second Graders, Third Graders and Fourth Graders learned about taking action and becoming and Upstander.
Fifth Graders learned about friendship boundaries and how to maintain healthy and fulfilling friendships.
