Are you looking for a way to help your reader?
Parents ask us all the time about finding books at the right reading level for their child. Here is the short answer: if your child is interested and the book is age appropriate, it's the right book! Children may read more challenging books than their "level" if it's a subject they know a good deal about. Sometimes children may read books that are "too easy" because their brains need a breather. This is okay! Yes, graphic novels are "real" reading as are audiobooks and e-books. So... if you're looking for books for your child, be experimental and try new things together. Read together and ask your child questions about what they've read. Help develop the lifelong habit of being a reader by modeling- allow your child to see YOU as a reader! Our mission here on the Prairie is to help your child find the right book that allows them to be lost in a great story.
