Ethical Reporting

DO include parent information

DO document use of modifications and accommodations to standard procedures

DO document the result of those modifications and accommodations

DO report the participation of an interpreter and the nature of the interactions

DO report the details related to  the student's language experiences and L1 and L2 use. 

DO take cultural and socio-linguistic factors into consideration 

DON'T make a disability/eligibility recommendation based on results of a single data source. 

DON'T report scores if standardization protocols were violated

DON'T use monolingual norms for bilingual students

DON'T use the phrase "results should be interpreted with caution." You are the skilled evaluator and are responsible for conducting and reporting that cautious interpretation

DON'T assume areas of weakness are a result of cultural and/or socio-linguistic factors
