Ms. Oakman

Hello! My name is Taylor Oakman and this is my first year teaching at Old Town Elementary (and my first year teaching in Texas). I graduated from Emporia State University (Kansas) in 2016 and taught 2^nd grade for two years before moving to the great state of Texas! I am thrilled to be teaching 3^rd grade at OTE this year!!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, going to concerts, taking a walk in the park, etc. I enjoy being outside (I am not quite used to this TX heat yet though). I have two children- Garrett is 3.5 years old and Bailey is 4 months old. They keep me busy to say the least!

Teaching has always been passion of mine. Creating positive relationships with my students (as well as their families) is very important to me. I will create an open, safe, and loving environment to ensure great success from my students. I cannot wait to get to know each and every one of you.
