All Roundabout Circus students performing in the show are asked to arrive by 5pm to get ready and have a group photo taken. Younger students can arrive between 5:30-5:45pm to minimise wait times.
We will take a group photo of each act before the show so plese ensure you arrive by the specified times
Doors to the public will open 20 minutes before the show starts at 6:10pm. Family and friends watching the show are asked to come no earlier than 20 minutes before the start of the show unless you are volunteering.
If you are dropping off someone, please drop them off and come back with the rest of the audience before the show starts as we have limited space inside and need to ensure we are getting tickets checked.
The Spanish Inquisition - Not really. Well we certainly hope not!
Showcase is a fun opportunity to show skills that our students have been working towards over the past few terms.
On arrival, students will ideally have hair and make up done, but if they need help then please ensure you arrive 90mins before start time. Please arrive wearing anything you need from home including dance tights.
What to bring:
Water bottle with your name on it
dance tights or other costume items - see list
small amount of non-messy snacks (nothing liquid or sticky should be consumed whilst in costume)
Hair and make up supplies for yourself
We will have costumes here ready for each act to put on and then when all class members have arrived we will take a group photo in costumes
The studio will have a curtained off area for backstage which is to the left of the stage/checker board area. Students will be expected to stay backstage during the half of the show that they are performing in. There will be a laptop set up with a camera so they can watch what is happening on stage. There will be free popcorn available backstage for performers. We will have a couple of parent helpers backstage as well as for student welfare.
We will have a small area set aside for performers to sit/stand near the bottom of the stairs so that they can watch the half of the show that they are not performing in.
We will have a short intermission midway during the performance. After all the acts have finished, we will do a presentation where all performers are brought back on stage and we will do an awards ceremony.
Please check the spreadsheet below to see what is required for your dress rehearsal and performance
Please ensure all jewellery is removed prior to arriving for the show. This includes necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings that can pose a safety risk during the performances.
Some groups may require some of their own under garments or basics to be worn such as black leotards or leggings/pants. Please ensure there are no zippers or buttons on any clothing being worn on aerial equipment.
If required, please ensure dance tights are from a reputable dance shop, and not a discount clothing retailer, as they will not withstand the impact of aerials. Recommended dance tights are convertible or footless matte beige.
Proposed running order below. Please note this may be subject to change and performers will be notified on the day.
