Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy Overview

School based OT is intended to assist students in achieving a functional level of independence in the school environment and to support the learning process. OT is dedicated to helping children develop all the abilities they need for the many "jobs" of childhood including play, social skills, and school performance. OT intervention is aimed at acquisition of specific skills as well as the development of compensatory strategies and environmental modifications to ensure successful participation within the school environment.

OT serves a variety of disabilities including developmental delays, visual processing delays, gross and fine motor delays and sensory regulation difficulty. I also assist in assessing, planning, and implementing instructional programs with learners who have OT deficits.
