In order to provide all students with the exposure and opportunities to learn the diverse content of the arts, students were welcomed into the virtual dance community to be creative and build relationships, in order to reach new goals they are proud of. Through this dance enrichment program, students were immersed in the content area of dance, obtaining introductory exposure to the foundations of dance and choreography. Creating another opportunity for students to work on life skills that they can incorporate into their everyday lives, this dance enrichment provoked artistic and cognitive development, as well as supported their academic and social growth through the integration of the social emotional learning competencies. Due to the State mandated standards in place for dance education, this program served as a vehicle to begin to bridge the gap in accordance with the VPA NJSLS and support and sustain the feeder program for dance education in the Roselle Public School District.
