All full-time, registered, RFU students are eligible to participate in our benefits outlined below. You can enroll the following family members in the medical plan:
Your spouse (the person who you are legally married to under state law, including same-sex spouse)
Your domestic partner
Your children (including your domestic partner's children)
Under age 26 are eligible to enroll in the medical coverage.
Over age 26 ONLY if they are incapacitated due to a disability and primarily dependent on your for support
Named in a Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO) as defined by federal law
Family members who are not eligible for coverage include (but are not limited to):
Parents, grandparents, and siblings
Any individual who is covered as a student of RFU cannot also be covered as a dependent
Part-time or online students
Students without health insurance are required to enroll in the student health insurance plan (SHIP). The enrollment application is available online during the scheduled enrollment periods. Students who do not have an enrollment or waiver application on file will be automatically enrolled in the SHIP.
Students are eligible to enroll in the Student Health Insurance plan within 30 days of a qualifying life event. Please visit Academic Health Plans (AHP) website for information about qualifying events and to enroll.
