You should start to consider what repayment will look like for you prior to financing your education. This sub-module will give you a brief overview that will help get you started thinking about what your repayment strategy should look like.Â
Typically, you will get a 6 month grace period where you won't have to start repaying your federal student loans. Private loans typically follow the same schedule, but you will want to check your promissory note just to be safe. If you have used up your 6 month grace period on any previous loans, you will go into immediate repayment once you graduate from your RFU program (within 60 days). Be sure to check with your loan servicer to see if you have used up your grace period.
