The Kinder and Preschoolers are learning similar topics as their older siblings in school age classes. We believe this will benefit family bonding and their future transition to the school age co-op. The younger children, however, will be using multi-sensory approaches to enhance their learning and understanding. The descriptions below give you a general idea of what we will cover this year.
We are using Window on the World (https://bit.ly/3qBohzI) as the primary curriculum, which is an invaluable and age-appropriate prayer resource that develops cultural, political, and geographical awareness through a Christian lens. We will also incorporate hymn study, Scripture memory and biographies of Christian heroes in our class. This year the 1st semester will focus on American history and Government to prepare families for the coming Presidential Election.
The elementary students will use the curriculum below. Families in Kinder and Preschooler may decide whether or not to purchase it with the group.

ROLCC Homeschool Co-Op (Kinder & Preschooler) Classroom Guidelines
Responsibilities
In ROLCC Homeschool Co-op (Kinder & Preschooler), all parents have a shared responsibility for contributing to the safety and protection of the children.
Children only attend ROLCC Homeschool Co-op (Kinder & Preschooler) when their adult parent is on the church premises. We are a program that requires parent participation.
Parents take turns teaching every month. 2 parents per month. Other parents will be there to help out.
Before the class, all parents need to inform “the teachers" (i.e., whoever will be teaching) of any allergies or special accommodations that their children need.
Children cannot attend the co-op if they were sick (e.g., fever, vomiting, diarrhea) in the last 24 hours.
Bathroom Usage and Safety
For the protection of children and adults, our teachers will not enter the restroom with the student. When a child's parent is not in the classroom (e.g., due to other teaching responsibilities), one of “the teachers” will walk the child to the restroom and wait outside.
If a child requires additional potty assistance, parent should inform the teachers before class.
We will keep an adult-to-child ratio to be 1:3 or higher to ensure a smooth classroom environment. Please sign up on our volunteer spreadsheet to indicate whether or not you will be in the same classroom with your children.
