Time: Fridays 9am-4:30pm

           32 Weeks 9/6/2024 - 5/16/2025 (Thanksgiving Break 11/29, Christmas Break 12/20-1/3, Easter Break 4/18)

Location: River of Life Christian Church (1177 Laurelwood Rd, Santa Clara, CA)

Facility Use Fee: $50 per period per family per year (non-refundable) with maximum $200 for using church facilities.

*Extra fees are required to pay to the instructor or the curriculum publisher.

Course descriptions:

Spiritual Formation by Pastor Vance

The aim of this session is to assist the participants practically practice entering into the presence of God through the roadmap provided by the scripture. The session will include short praise songs, prayers in thanksgiving and praise, prayers of repentance and cleansing, meditation on the Word, and finishing with supplication. The Biblical pattern of spiritual formation should be developed into habits for a lifetime, allowing the participants to build and continue a vibrant and intimate relationship with the Godhead.

About the instructor: Pastor Vance was a missionary to China for 10 years.  He received his MCS in Harvest Seminary and worked with The King’s Seminary (now The King’s University, Southlake, Texas) in HK to provide post secondary training for house church leaders.  After returning to North America, he worked as a youth pastor at the Tri Valley Bread of Life Christian Church.  Currently he is homeschooling his son, Samuel with the Homeschool Co-op at ROLCC.

Window on the World 

We are using Window on the World (https://bit.ly/3qBohzI) as the primary curriculum, which is an invaluable and age-appropriate prayer resource that develops cultural, political, and geographical awareness through a Christian lens. We will also incorporate hymn study, Scripture memory and biographies of Christian heroes in our class. This year, the 1st semester will focus on American history and Government to prepare families for the coming Presidential Election.

Class Fee:  $1,240 per year ($620 per semester) per person

If paying monthly, 10 monthly payments, $130.00 per month, beginning August, 2023.

About Your Instructor:  

Gail Efting’s purpose is to live each day as unto the Lord, doing the works He has prepared for her, in the light of God’s Word.  Her mission is to encourage others to consistently apply God’s Truth to every aspect of everyday life.  She has served as a Bible teacher and Biblical counselor for many years, serving as librarian for the Theological Library at PBC, Palo Alto, and host of Bible Dig for 23 years.  Her BALM (Biblical Application to Life Management skills) class is an outgrowth of this mission. 

‘Mrs E’ has taught at all levels, in Christian private school settings and homeschool enrichment classes, as well as in college classrooms and corporate boardrooms.  She has offered help and encouragement to Christian homeschooling families for over 40 years, including serving as Director of TKA’s Enrichment Program for 18 years. She has also encouraged and supported many new Christian schools in development and growth. The Eftings homeschooled their own children through High School. Mrs. Efting has taught the BALM class, in various forms, for over 35 years.

MathCounts and Logic for Middle School

MathCounts (https://www.mathcounts.org/) are communities focused on the enjoyment of mathematical problem solving. Meetings are lively, interactive, and challenging, but in a highly rewarding way!

Middle School Logic will use Fallacy Detective to learn logic and critical thinking to discern errors in reasoning which are rampant in today's media.
